What is the difference between a custom home and a regular home?+

A Mohana home is different from a regular home in the flexibility and quality offered to the owner. Regular homes are limited in options — few choices for exterior appearance, floor plans or interior finishes, and limitations on structural, electrical and plumbing changes. Custom homes have endless possibilities for the exterior, floor plan layouts and everything in between. The best way to begin is a conversation with a professional custom home builder to bring your vision to life.

What is the process of building a custom home?+

In the first consultation, we work with you to understand your dream home and vision. Next we look for the ideal lot. Once we understand the scope of work, we provide an estimated cost. If we're a good match, we move on to the architectural and design stages with our team, then you select finishing materials. From there we proceed to construction until the project is complete — and before we hand it over, it'll be nice and tidy for you to move in.

Do you carry professional licenses and warranties?+

All work done by Mohana Homes comes with a standard 5-year warranty and is fully insured. Our tradesmen are fully licensed and registered with WSIB, and we carry a minimum of $5 million in liability insurance.

How long does it take to build a custom home in Toronto?+

Every project is tailored to the individual's vision, so timelines vary. As a general guide, a 5,000 sq ft home takes approximately one year to complete from the day we receive the building permits.

How much does it cost to build a new custom home in the GTA?+

Each project is unique, and pricing is determined by various factors. Our team works closely with you to provide the most accurate cost estimate for your build. We leverage our extensive network of suppliers, ensuring you receive trade discounts for the most competitive prices on materials and finishes.

Is a new custom home better than a full renovation?+

It's not necessarily one being better than the other — it depends on your lifestyle and intended use of the property. A renovation offers sentimental value, potential resale value and the convenience of not moving, but requires assessing the home's history, any structural issues and the neighbourhood's resale value.
